This is a good full-size violin. There is no label but I think it has some age to it, around fifty years or so and although I can't be certain, my instinct tells me it is Eastern European. It has an ebony fingerboard (I will be fitting a top quality ebony chinrest) and I have fitted a light alloy tailpiece with built in fine tuners for ease of tuning. This instrument is made from good quality woods, a very nice light stripe to the back and neck with a fairly close grained top. I have fitted a good quality bridge and at the moment I have steel strings on the violin which help to produce a very strong, bright tone with some considerable warmth in the lower register. If you prefer perlon (dominant type strings) just let me know and I will fit them for you. There are no repairs on the violin, old or otherwise and it is setup ready to play. It comes with a new lightweight case and a good bow free of charge. I will also include a block of high quality rosin and a free shoulder rest during the sale period making this outfit even better value.
